February 4, 11, 18, 25Winter is an exciting time in Back Bay. One of the unique characteristics of Back Bay is that it is an important stop along the Atlantic Flyway for migrating waterfowl.
Join BBRF, Back Bay NWR, and a birding expert to learn
about the different species that call Back Bay home for the
winter. The walk is approximately a mile, along the boardwalk
trail around Back Bay. Walks last approximately 1 - 1.5 hours.
The walks are free, but reservations are appreciated. Winter weather can be unpredictable, and the walks will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. Please call 301-7329 to make your reservation. Saturdays at 9 am.

Join staff from Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge and False Cape State Park for a scenic ride while observing wintering waterfowl and other native wildlife while learning about the history of the area. Tours travel through Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge, into False Cape State Park and include a one mile hike (round-trip) to the Wash Woods cemetery site. Trams are open air (unheated) vehicles.
