Sandstock is a beach-inspired variation on “Woodstock.” National and regional tribute artists who cover performers from Pink Floyd to the Allman Brothers to Journey will crank out hit after hit on two beach stages at the Virginia Beach oceanfront!
All performances, which are free to the public, will be held on “dueling” stages on the beach at 24th Street, adjacent to the 24th Street Park.
The Machine, America’s top Pink Floyd show, has forged a 25 year reputation of excellence, extending the legacy of Pink Floyd, while creating another legacy all its own. Over the years, The Machine has touched the hearts and souls of many, selling out theaters, large clubs and casinos across North and Central America, Europe and Asia. They have also appeared at renowned music festivals such as Bonnaroo, Riverbend, Gathering of the Vibes, Buffalo's Artpark, and Germany’s Rock of Ages. The New York-based band focuses on making every show an authentic “Floydian” experience for its fans. Known for performing a diverse mix of The Floyd’s extensive 16-album repertoire (complete with faithful renditions of popular hits as well as obscure gems), The Machine’s stellar musicianship, dramatic lighting and video, and passionate delivery sets them above and beyond the rest. The Machine Performs Pink Floyd will perform On Friday, June 20, from 7:30pm-8:30pm and 9:30pm-10:30pm on the Hippy Dippy stage.
After 6 years together, Departure has become the most respected Journey tribute band in the nation. Departure replicates the look, sound, and feel of the original 80’s rock super group. The five band members have been together from the beginning and have developed an amazing on-stage chemistry. These veteran musicians pride themselves on giving their audience an incredible high-energy, qualitative stage show from start to finish. Featured lead vocalist Brian Williams has an amazing singing voice flawlessly matching Steve Perry’s vocal range and movements. Departure also highlights the early Journey years, when Gregg Rolie was lead singer, featuring Joel Hayes on keys and lead vocals. Departure will play the Hippy Dippy stage from 7:30pm-8:30pm and 9:30pm-10:30pm on Saturday, June 21.
Hollywood Nights is the ultimate tribute to Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet band. This New Jersey-based powerhouse has set out to re-create everything about Bob and his music right down to the smallest detail. The band prides itself on continuing the amazing groundwork laid down by Bob over the past 30 years. Hollywood Nights will be featured on the Flower Power stage from 6:30pm-7:30pm and 8:30pm-9:30pm on Sunday, June 22.
