Virginia Green is the Commonwealth of Virginia’s campaign to promote environmentally friendly practices in all aspects of Virginia’s tourism industry.  Virginia Green has established and outlined basic “core activities” specific to each sector of tourism, and these practices are considered the required minimum for participation in the program.

Virginia Green Lodging encourages its lodging participants (whether oceanfront hotels, resorts, bed and breakfasts and inns, cabins, condos, or vacation home rentals) to be mindful of their impact on "Mother Earth" and to take the necessary steps needed to reduce their carbon footprint.  Each Virginia Green Lodging Member, including Siebert Realty, is dedicated to pollution prevention techniques that can reduce our impact while also saving money.   

Going Green Techniques and Efforts Include:

§  Optional Linen Service:  Sheets and towels are not automatically changed every day.

§  Recycling:  Guests and Team Members must have the opportunity to recycle.

     Our Sandbridge Guests are provided with recycling containers and given instructions on their use.

     Siebert Realty, as a company, takes every opportunity possible to recycle and even our Team Members are provided with a paper recycling bin under their desks.  

§  Water Conservation:   A plan should be in place for minimizing water use.

§  Energy Conservation:  A plan should be in place to address energy conservation & efficiency opportunities.

§  Green Events, Conferences, & Meetings:   Facilities should be able to accommodate groups who want “green” events.
