The Mid-Atlantic Rockfish Shootout is...

THE RICHEST ROCKFISH TOURNAMENT IN THE COUNTRY with over 1 Million paid out to date! The 10th Annual Mid-Atlantic Rockfish Shootout was a huge success last year paying out over $217,654!  Join us for the 11th Shootout - January 9-11, 2014.  

TOURNAMENT HISTORY: 

The Mid-Atlantic Rockfish Shootout began in 2004 – born out of a Virginia Beach fisherman’s love for angling the shores of the Atlantic along the Virginia Beach oceanfront.  It occurred to him, as it has to many, that not only are the waters off of Virginia Beach plentiful with fish, but they truly offer as good – if not better – fishing than anywhere on the East Coast.  Proving it would become the passion of the tournament director, Mike Standing.  This passion has catapulted the Mid-Atlantic Rockfish Shootout to become the largest Rockfish tournament in the country and has helped Virginia Beach garner its proper angling recognition.   So far, the record rockfish caught in Virginia Beach was 73 pounds.   Can we break that record this year?  We'll see!

GIVING BACK:

    To date, the Rockfish Shootout has provided thousands of pounds of skinless rockfish filets to area food banks... that's well into the tens of thousands of individual meals to the homeless community in Hampton Roads.

   

    We have donated over $25,000 to help paid for a family room at CHKD in Norfolk.  Several thousand have also been donated to a local scholarship fund, a local fisherman in need and various other fishing related organizations.  This year, proceeds will benefit the Virginia Gentlemen & the JT Walk.

The Magic of Virginia Beach
